Formerly our Chief Operating Officer, Mary takes on the position of CEO after 17 years in senior consulting and leadership roles at Energetics.

Mary is globally and locally recognised as an expert in climate risk and energy management strategies. Two years ago she was chosen to represent the Business Council for Sustainable Development Australia on the innovation and research, development and demonstration task force of the UNFCCC’s Technology Executive Committee. Most recently, Mary was appointed to represent business again at the UNFCCC, this time on the Standing Committee on Finance. She attended COP24 in Poland and brings a wealth of knowledge of the developments in climate policy and business innovation at the global level. She is also a member of the International Energy Board of the Institute of Chemical Engineers (IChemE). Locally, Mary is on the Board of the Energy Efficiency Council (EEC) where she chairs the strategy committee. She won the Women’s Agenda Leadership Award for Emerging Leader in the Private Sector in 2017.

Mary takes over the role from Tony Cooper, Energetics’ CEO since 2006. We wish to thank Tony for his leadership of the company over the past 13 years. As CEO he not only saw Energetics through economically and politically challenging times, he steps down as the business is well-positioned financially and holding an enviable reputation as Australia’s leading climate risk and energy consultancy. Tony will remain in our business as Executive Director, pursuing business development opportunities at a time when the demand for services in support of climate risk and energy management is growing rapidly.

The team at Energetics express their congratulations to Mary on her appointment, and thank Tony for his years of leadership.
