Founded in 1984 by Jonathan Jutsen, Energetics has grown from a domestic engineering consulting business providing energy audits, to a firmly established management consultancy offering energy, carbon and sustainability advisory services and products.

Over years Energetics has provided our clients with insights and strategic advice based on our ability to anticipate changing markets needs in ways competitors have been unable. During the years in which energy was cheap and abundant, Energetics recognised the underlying factors that would force upward pressure on energy prices and the subsequent need for businesses to identify energy savings measures to position themselves for long term growth.  Energetics was able to grow through times of economic downturn when businesses typically resisted focus on energy management and sustainability, because our experts were able to help senior managers identify short and long term opportunities that would not only reduce costs but establish a competitive advantage.

Jonathan Jutsen - Executive Director, founder and internationally recognised energy management expert, talks about his career, the birth of Energetics and its journey.

Working with some of Australia’s largest energy users and most complex businesses, Energetics has built a reputation as an innovator founded on the passion and expertise of our employees.  Our work for clients shows our determination to redefine and elevate the range of carbon, energy and resource management issues to become essential components of business strategy.

Energetics has worked on iconic projects, such as Woolworths 10 year sustainability journey and Sydney Water’s innovative Renewable Energy Generation Program generating power from sewage outflow. Through a partnering approach, Energetics both identifies and supports our clients navigating what can be challenging and entrenched organisational systems and practices. We understand the importance of thorough understanding of the market and internal demands and constraints, from which targets and strategies can be determined and implemented.

We have developed a range of Intellectual Property that has strongly influenced the direction of the energy and resource management field. Many of the programs for energy, water, sustainability management in Australia carry the mark of our IP, including the One-2-Five® family, CarbonScope(R) and many other Energetics' methodologies and products.

Energetics' clients benefit from our ability to see how an energy and carbon constrained economy will present both risks and opportunities.  We can help business prepare for changes in the market years ahead of their competitors.
