The Melbourne Renewable Energy Project (MREP) buyers group achieved an Australian first when it enabled a diverse group of energy users to receive a supply of ‘firm power’ from a new renewable energy project.
The cost, flexibility and sustainability benefits are undisputed but there are risks to be managed when contracting directly in the wholesale electricity market. These long-term deals require involvement of executives, as well as finance, risk and legal professionals, in addition to procurement, energy and sustainability leaders usually engaged in energy transactions.
At this workshop, the team behind MREP and other major deals across Australia - Energetics, Ashurst, NAB and the City of Melbourne - will provide insights and advice on how to execute a successful PPA.
