"90% of Energetics clients said they would recommend us to their colleagues and industry peers" (Energetics Online Client Survey Program, 2011)
Customised data capture process saves time and money for EEO, NPI and NGER reporting
Energetics was engaged by Isaac Plains Coal Management to conduct an EEO assessment of the site to address compliance requirements under this program, identify opportunities to minimise the effect the project has on the environment, and to achieve its energy consumption reduction targets. Energetics was able to deliver immediate cost savings by customising the data checklist and spreadsheet for EEO, NPI and NGER reporting purposes.
Energy Efficiency Opportunities (EEO) assessment delivers substantial cost savings
Energetics recently partnered with Golden Circle to conduct an EEO assessment and develop opportunities to improve the food processing site’s energy efficiency. The EEO assessment identified 11 cost effective projects for immediate implementation with substantial energy and cost savings.
Brambles obtains significant cost savings through tariffs and procurement
The two Brambles businesses in Australia, CHEP and Recall, recently used Energetics' energy procurement services to help them recontract their energy needs. The Energetics team negotiated electricity and gas contracts in every state delivering an overall cost benefit. At the same time Energetics assisted Brambles by optimising the network tariffs for each of their 70 sites.
Oil and gas producer - Carbon strategy development
Energetics worked with a Western Australian oil and gas producer to develop and implement a carbon strategy in response to climate change risks and opportunities. Through the facilitation of an executive level strategic workshop, the client was able to gain executive level commitment to a climate change response and to understand current and desired future positioning. The client was then able to develop projects and actions to work towards their desired position as an innovator in climate change.
Onshore gas plant - Management of energy performance
Energetics assisted the operator of an onshore gas plant to identify a range of energy saving and Greenhouse gas (GHG) abatement opportunities. Despite the large demand for gas by the compressor and generator turbines, the study showed that the largest point source of GHG emissions was the methane remaining in nitrogen vented from a nitrogen rejection unit. Technologies borrowed from coal mining may offer a means of reducing emissions from this source.
Offshore liquids stripping facility - Greenhouse emissions modelling
Energetics assisted the developer of an offshore liquids stripping facility to develop a greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions model based on design data. This allowed the developer to appreciate its potential exposure to emissions trading or a carbon tax. The work also identified opportunities to reduce GHG emissions from the facility prior to the design being finalised for construction.
WA oil and gas producer Internal NGER review
Energetics was engaged by a Western Australian oil and gas producer to perform an internal review of the approach it employed for National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) compliance in the 2008/2009 reporting period. The intent of the review was to identify and address compliance gaps prior to the submission of its 2009/2010 inventory. The approach employed by Energetics provided the client with confidence in the compliance of its second NGER report and enabled them to adapt existing production accounting systems to facilitate compliant NGER reporting in future years. The client was also able to build NGER reporting capacity within its own employees.

Energetics helps Woolworths generate on-site renewable energy
Investment in renewable energy technology is an integral component of Woolworths’ commitment to reduce its carbon footprint. Energetics conducted a feasibility assessment of retail sites and distribution centres to identify suitable opportunities for renewable energy generation.
Energetics assists St Barbara Leonora Operations in identifying $500k of savings in Energy Efficiency Opportunities
Energetics facilitated an on site workshop for St Barbara Leonora Operations to identify Energy Efficiency Opportunities (EEO). Thirteen opportunities with an estimated total value of $500,000 in savings were identified as a result. By conucting this EEO assessment, St Barbara was able to identify approximately 16,300 GJ of energy savings whilst complying with the EEO Program requirements.
Fuji Xerox takes advantage of cost savings opportunities through early negotiations
Fuji Xerox Australia (FXA) recently used Energetics' energy procurement services to help them get the most out of the low energy prices available in late 2009. By reviewing their contract situation well before contract expiry and remaining responsive to market conditions, FXA entered the market 18 months prior to their contract expiry. This approach eliminates the price-shock risk often associated with leaving energy contract negotiations until the last minute.
University of Queensland - Developing a carbon strategy and initiating its implementation
Energetics supports the University of Queensland (UQ) to enhance its position as a leading institution for education and research by developing a coherent strategic framework to respond to the challenges of climate change. Furthermore, Energetics is currently working with UQ to plan and initiate implementation programs to deliver the universitys climate change goals.
