One-2-Five®Sustainability

Energetics' One-2-Five®Sustainability tool helps businesses to look at sustainability as a strategic business management issue rather than just a technical issue. The diagnostic identifies strengths and areas requiring improvement on a range of sustainability issues including eco-efficiency practices (energy, water and waste), supply chain management and stakeholder engagement.

Energetics' One-2-Five®Sustainability diagnostic tool is applied as a management self-diagnostic, based on a structured process of YES/NO statements that a business management team answers in order to assess their current environmental sustainability practices. In this way the business takes ownership of the process and importantly the outcomes.

Understanding Current Practices

Taking a holistic approach, it helps the business management team to understand the effectiveness of their current environmental sustainability practices and identify critical actions for improvement. Additionally, they are provided with a structured framework to achieve continuous improvement in environmental sustainability. The processes are designed to help a business integrate environmental sustainability into their existing quality, environmental and/or safety programs.

Engage Senior Decision Makers

The main aim of the tool is to engage senior decision makers at the beginning of the program to increase the likelihood of identified improvement actions being implemented. All One-2-Five® tools are applied in an interactive management workshop with the senior management team, typical attendees include asset managers, building/facility managers, procurement managers, financial controllers, marketing managers and some sub-contractors.

Immediate Output Report

One-2-Five® sessions take approximately 2 hours. Following the diagnostic session, the business receives an immediate and automatically generated output report. This report helps to capture the enthusiasm generated by the session. The report includes:

  • An overall environmental sustainability rating;
  • A rating of environmental sustainability performance in 20 specific areas;
  • A simple short term action plan addressing the top 5 priority items;
  • A planning module to gain agreement and commitment on actions, responsibilities and timeframes.

The report can be printed immediately, provided to the customer on a disc, or e-mailed in PDF format.

Driving Continuous and Sustainable Improvements

The One-2-Five®Sustainability diagnostic is designed to be completed every 6 to 12 months, providing the opportunity to facilitate continuous improvement in environmental sustainability, by continuing to maintain relationships and deliver value to senior executives.

Providing Reputation Enhancement

One-2-Five®Sustainability provides incentives for businesses to reach milestones through the provision of a recognition system that indicates stages of improvement and achievement. The levels of the environmental recognition system not only encourage businesses to continuously improve their practices, but also act as a visual indicator of a company's level of environmental excellence. Businesses also use the system to raise their credentials and demonstrate that they are acting responsibly to consumers and stakeholders.
