Energy Challenger®
Energy Challenger® helps Energy Utilities and/or Agencies to engage small to medium-sized commercial and industrial customers in energy demand side management programs.
Energy Challenger® is designed to support demand side management programs run by utilities or government agencies. Energy Challenger® is a flexible yet quick, web based system relevant for small to medium-sized business energy users.
Hosted online, the tool allows business customers to conduct a self-diagnostic session, typically within 15 minutes. The tool collects appropriate business management data then engages the customer through a series of technical and management questions that ascertain energy saving or efficiency opportunities.
The tool then provides them with an immediate improvement roadmap leading them to helpful information and support services on the utility's website to assist the customer in deriving further savings. Further, printable reports allow them to benchmark against their industry as well as all other users of the tool.
The 'Energy Challenger®' program targets medium-sized commercial and industrial (C&I) customers who would typically spend between $10,000 - $500,000 p.a. on energy. The application is a web-based tool-kit which is branded for the utility/agency but is externally hosted. The tool includes:
- A self-diagnostic tool to evaluate the effectiveness of the company's energy management practices and use of energy efficient technologies.
- A prioritized action plan for the company. This session can be conducted as a self-implemented activity or conducted with a utility account manager over the phone as a facilitated activity.
The customer is also provided with links to any/all of the following:
- Utility/agency products and/or implementation support services. This is critical as it links a customer's identified needs from this process to the utility's/agency's specific products and services that support savings in this area;
- Self-help information on topics identified as a priority action for the company;
- A database of 3rd party providers (services and/or products related to the priority action);
- Market research/analysis on customer responses to enable utilities/agencies to gain a better understanding of the mid-sized C&I market.
The tool has the ability to be delivered not only via the web, but also facilitated over the phone or on-site by account managers. What ever the delivery mechanism, the tool has the capacity to help utilities / agencies to further develop relationships with decision makers and drive sustainable improvements in energy efficiency.
