Energetics launches advanced online Energy & Greenhouse information management solution. Energetics launches advanced online Energy & Greenhouse information management solution.

Australia's most successful Energy & Greenhouse business solutions developer, Energetics, is launching Our-e-Manager (OeM) in Canberra next week. Our-e-Manager is an advanced online energy and greenhouse information management solution aimed at large energy users. OeM enables users to capture substantial energy cost savings through better energy management. It is already in use by two of Australia's largest energy consumers, Amcor and Goodman Fielder.

Our-e-Manager is an internet based system that assists in driving down energy costs by giving all levels of management a previously unavailable view of energy consumption throughout an organisation. This unique insight into energy use enables easy comparison between sites, benchmarking of performance and the preparation of site, regional and corporate energy management reports. OeM is an energy management tool that will deliver real value to any organisation with multiple sites.

Government organisations would certainly benefit from its cost control and reporting capabilities and industry bodies could possibly employ OeM to help develop industry wide energy benchmarks.

Developed with significant support from the Federal Government, Our-e-Manager is also designed to provide greenhouse emissions inventory data in support of Government commitment programs. The Commonwealth Government provided a $3.6 million grant from the Department of Industry Science and Resources R&D START program towards the development of the software in 1999. Such a valuable vote of confidence from ISR was based both on Energetics longstanding track  record in Energy & Greenhouse management and the potential for OeM to make a significant contribution to national energy efficiency and greenhouse targets while reducing business costs.

"For twenty years we have seen companies with more control and oversight over stationery expenditure of a few thousand dollars a month, than they have with energy spends of up to $10 Million per month," said Matt Reardon, CEO Energetics  Australia. "We believe that energy savings of up to 15% can be achieved by many organisations as a result of using Our-e- manager.

Energy is an area that has been overlooked by management as a potential for bottom line cost savings. With the surge in world energy costs that will not abate in the near future, energy management is or should be a senior management agenda item. Energy is an area that CFO's should take a serious interest in," Reardon said. "Our-e-Manager is also a great risk management tool, something that is important in today's unstable energy markets".

Peter Dobney, National Energy Manager of Amcor, one of the world's leading manufacturers, has participated with Energetics through the development program and is now operational with live data in the system. "We selected Our-e-Manager after evaluating other energy management systems. It is an exciting development that will greatly enhance energy management in large industrial and commercial companies, particularly during a period characterised by increasing energy prices", he said. "Gathering and processing energy data, automatically measuring KeyPerformance Indicators and disseminating energy performance information through a large diverse organisation like Amcor is critical to managing our energy spend."

Goodman Fielder has also been using Our-e-Manager through its development stages. John Templeman, Group Manager of Energy sees the solution as a major breakthrough in energy management.

"The opportunities for companies using Our-e-Manager to better manage energy and consumption costs is exceptional. We will be able to track energy usage and costs across our sites, measure key performance indicators, set targets and identify variances on a divisional, state, site and energy type basis. More importantly, it will enable us to have access to centralised data with up to date reports."

Our-e-Manager is a powerful modular-based and enterprise-wide solution that can cater for the needs of mid to large sized organisations. The Energy Account Analysis Module tracks energy costs, reports exceptions and identifies potential savings. The Site Energy Performance Module determines daily/shift energy consumption. The module graphs daily load profiles, reduces these to easily understood performance indicators and highlights exceptions against targets. The Greenhouse Emissions Module manages greenhouse emissions for risk management and commitment programs.

Energetics has partnered with Hewlett Packard Australia for the provision of world-class data centre services. The  application is hosted on a site that provides high performance hardware and communications redundancy along with 7/24support facilities ensuring the application has the highest levels of system availability.

Roman Domanski, Executive Director of Energy Users Association of Australia (EUAA), represents the interests of some 50 major Australian energy consumers - where annual energy spends range from millions to hundreds of millions of dollars. "We see the potential for electronic-based products such as Our-e-Manager to provide substantial benefit to Australian industry by enabling reduced energy costs, improved competitiveness and management of greenhouse emissions."

Energetics is a leader in the development of Energy & Greenhouse Solutions. The technology platform that has been developed for Our-e-Manager enables the deployment of solutions globally, quickly and consistently according to the specific needs of Energetics' customers and partners.
