Outsourced infrastructure greatly enhances enterprise-wide energy and greenhouse management of large energy consumers.

MELBOURNE, 11 October 2001: Hewlett-Packard Australia today announced a three-year outsourcing alliance with Australia's leading integrated energy and greenhouse solutions business, Energetics.

The alliance sees HP providing a hosted business environment for Energetics' Our-e-Manager, an online energy and greenhouse information management solution designed to manage customers' energy consumption by reducing energy expenditure, improving energy and greenhouse performance and mitigating risk.

Mike Brennan, Chief Information Officer, Energetics, said the decision to outsource the web-based infrastructure to HP was based on a need for flexibility, reliability, security and a shared commitment to total customer satisfaction.

"When you've invested several million dollars in the development of a web-based solution such as Our-e-Manager, you don't risk its success by scrimping at the back end," said Brennan.

"That's why we chose HP. They took the time to understand our business and were flexible enough to structure a solid, secure and totally scalable, environment which precisely suited our needs, and those of our customers "This left us free to focus on our core competencies building world class energy and environmental management solutions"

HP provides 24 x 7 availability through the provision of a stable and secure (physical and network) infrastructure. The Our-e-Manager web environment is hosted in a secure HP data centre on two dedicated HP Netservers running the Windows 2000 Advanced operating system.
