Dr Peter Holt in Paris for the two weeks of COP21 climate negotiations

Peter leads Energetics’ Strategy team working at both board and executive levels to provide insights into the impact of climate change and Australia’s changing energy mix.  Peter helps businesses identify new market opportunities in a future low carbon economy.

Over the two weeks of COP21, Peter will assess the impacts for Australian business as a new climate deal takes shape, as well as comment on business events run by global associations such as the International Energy Agency (IEA) and International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).  Here the risk management challenges will be assessed and best practice showcased.   

 

Peter consults to sectors as diverse as mining, oil and gas, energy, telecommunications and construction.  His multi-disciplinary team of scientists, engineers, lawyers and economists works across the economy with Australia’s largest businesses. This includes leading a team working for the Federal Government on the development of methodologies used by organisations to submit projects into the Emissions Reduction Fund auction. He has also advised the NSW and Victorian governments on energy efficiency schemes and renewable energy sourcing strategies.

Peter, a published doctoral engineer, is a non-executive director of Sustainable Business Australia (SBA), which is the regional partner for the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), representing Australia’s peak professional body for sustainability issues.
