Curtailability ... Some real opportunities this summer!

An expectation of high electricity prices and extreme price volatility this summer is creating an environment where 'curtailable' customers may be able to make some real money.

Although the summer electricity supply outlook for Victoria and South Australia has marginally improved (NEMMCO's revised forecast is that the combined reserve margin will be met) there is a real chance of high prices and supply shortages especially if the forecast of a long hot summer eventuates.

This provides a real opportunity to make some money by participating in a curtailability program. Many of our clients already have retail contracts that will facilitate curtailability via the use of in-house generation or voluntary load shedding.

Now is the time to dust off these agreements and ensure that that you are ready to participate.
