November 2008 - Your End of Year Carbon/Energy Checklist

The checklist outlines key reporting deadlines, data gathering requirements and considerations for carbon and energy management through a period of economic uncertainty.

  • NGERS Compliance (National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Scheme). Is your company captured by NGERS? If so, have you been collecting audit quality data since July 1 this year? Do you need a suitable system for data gathering and processing for NGERS compliance or cost management, including bill processing? Talk to Energetics about our information management solution, EnTERPRIZE.EMĀ®. Contact Robert Sims, Principal Consultant, on simsr@energetics.com.au.
  • Energy Efficiency Opportunities (EEO) annual reporting: required by 31 December 2008. Your report, signed off by your CEO, must be submitted to the Energy Efficiency Opportunities Office and be reported publicly. This report is important to demonstrate your climate change credibility. For further assistance please contact your Key Account Manager, or Business Development: horwoodr@energetics.com.au (National), abbotta@energetics.com.au (Qld) or innesb@energetics.com.au (WA).
  • Environment and Resource Efficiency plans (EREP) reporting: required by 31 December 2008. If you have Victorian sites captured by the program you must report on energy, water and waste. For assistance please contact Peter Holt, Principal Consultant,on holtp@energetics.com.au.
  • Reduce Your Energy and Water Costs. This is a priority in an economic slowdown. Energetics will help you reduce your costs significantly as well as meet program compliance requirements.
  • Manage energy price volatility in a period of uncertainty. Energy prices are increasing and are extremely volatile. Energetics can provide you with an 'Energy and Carbon Market Watch' program and consulting support to ensure you get the best deal for your energy supply. For more information about Energetics' Energy Watch Service, email info@energetics.com.au
  • Understand the impact of the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme (CPRS). The government White Paper defining the operation of the CPRS is due in late December this year. For advice and assistance contact David Mitchell, Senior Consultant, on mitchelld@energetics.com.au.
  • Smart Energy Savings Program for your Queensland sites. Will your site exceed the 100-500TJ threshold for baseline year 2009-2010? If so, you will need to identify savings opportunities and prepare Energy Savings Plans for each site. For assistance contact Adrian Abbott, Queensland Regional Manager, abbotta@energetics.com.au.

Energetics' team of leading experts can provide the support your business needs to address each of these issues. Energetics works with you from concept to implementation.
