July 2008 - EREP plans due 31 December 2008
Now that you’ve registered for EREP, it is time to start preparing your submission. Environmental Resource Efficiency Plans (EREP) are due to the Victorian EPA by 31 December 2008.

Ensuring compliance – either for a specific element (energy, water or waste) or an overall approach to EREP compliance. Energetics can help you meet your legislative requirements and assist in the development of necessary evidence to demonstrate each criterion.
Beyond compliance – the EREP plans provides the basis for a strategic approach to resource efficiency with a focus on cost reduction. As we move towards a low carbon economy and face increasing energy, water and waste prices, resource efficiency has a direct impact on profit margins. We are also conducting many studies that include carbon footprints, Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), NGER and many other data management and reporting requirements.
The EREP program requires detailed analysis of resource efficiency opportunities and implementation of all projects identified with a payback of less than 3 years.
From our experience we have found that:
Energy – Those businesses in both EREP and EEO will need to finish the energy assessment by the end of December this year to meet the EREP reporting requirement.
Water – most of our clients have already conducted a WaterMAP as required by Victorian legislation. WaterMAP focuses on the use of potable water. EREP requires a more thorough examination of all water sources used on site (such as existing rainwater harvesting, groundwater extraction, recycled water).
Waste – Many sites have not conducted comprehensive waste assessment before. Cleaner production and waste minimisation techniques can be applied.
Management diagnostic – management systems are included within the EREP program. We often find that this is an area where significant gains can be attained with no or small expenditure, Clear identification of management actions and timeframes will help to address this element of the EREP program
