Energetics congratulates Wesfarmers Insurance (8/2009)
Wesfarmers Insurance recently announced that they attained carbon neutral status for their Australian businesses: Lumley Insurance, WFI and OAMPS Insurance Brokers. This achievement is believed to be a first for a major Australian insurance business.
Energetics is proud to have played a role advising Wesfarmers Insurance on how to reach this business milestone. In this project, Energetics undertook a carbon lifecycle analysis and advised Wesfarmers Insurance on offset strategies. Our work with a range of clients spanning sectors as diverse as finance, manufacturing, retail, utilities and commercial property management, consistently shows that clients who proactively manage their carbon exposure realise a competitive advantage: as clients increasingly seek suppliers pursuing environmentally responsible management practices, and also in anticipation of a price on carbon under the planned Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme.
