Energetics wins inaugural Victorian CitySwitch Green Office Awards
Energetics is delighted to announce that its efforts to support sustainable work environments were recognised on 7th December 2010 when Energetics was presented the inaugural Victorian CitySwitch Green Office Award for achievements in reducing office energy use.
Energetics has a long standing and proud national commitment to the CitySwitch Green Office Program, which is widely recognised for its signatories' achievements.
Sustainability Victoria CEO Anita Roper said "The CitySwitch Green Office program works with the leaders in commercial office tenancy who know that sustainability makes good business sense. These organisations are taking smart steps to minimise their energy use by improving or upgrading equipment and fostering a culture of behaviour change in the workplace."
Specifically, Energetics was winner of the "CitySwitch Signatory of the Year Award" (under 2000m²) for office changes such as the installation of motion-sensor lighting, computer energy monitoring, purchasing 100% GreenPower and the achievement of a 5 Star NABERS rating.
Tony Cooper, Energetics' CEO, said "Ensuring that we support sustainable and responsible office working conditions is an important expression of our Energetics' value 'Passion: acting as an environmental role model'. To win this award is great recognition of the efforts of our internal eTeam, and our Melbourne office generally."
Roper also said "If every Australian office tenant adopted similar changes to those of the EPA (also a winner) and Energetics, there is the potential to save around 1 million tonnes of greenhouse gases per annum".
"Today's increasing focus on climate change makes it paramount that businesses address their environmental footprint and we see benchmarking greenhouse performance as the first step towards sustainability. Programs such as CitySwitch Green Office are important in educating the business community and reducing our impact on the environment" said Cooper.
