Dr Peter Holt

Peter leads Energetics’ Strategy team working at board and executive levels to provide insights into the impact of climate change and Australia’s changing energy mix.  For more than 10 years, he has advised some of Australia’s largest energy users to help them identify new market opportunities and manage the risks associated with the transition to a future low carbon economy. He has advised  the Federal Government on the development of methodologies for the Emissions Reduction Fund auctions, and consulted to the NSW and Victoria governments on energy efficiency schemes and renewable energy sourcing strategies. Peter, a published doctoral engineer, is a non-executive director of Sustainable Business Australia (SBA).  He attended the climate negotiations in Paris in 2015 and most recently the UNEP Finance Initiative Global Roundtable in Dubai.  

He consults to sectors as diverse as mining, oil and gas, energy, telecommunications and construction.  His multi-disciplinary team of scientists, engineers, lawyers and economists works across the economy with Australia’s largest businesses. This includes leading a team working for the Federal Government on the development of methodologies used by organisations to submit projects into the Emissions Reduction Fund auction. He has also advised the NSW and Victorian governments on energy efficiency schemes and renewable energy sourcing strategies.
